Keep / Care
The small jobs that keep a product working.
Most things give up long before they have to. Omora keeps a short care routine on every product — the filter, the descaling, the things that are easy to forget — so what you already own keeps going.
- A curated set of care tips per product type, available offline. Included on every plan.
- With Omora Plus, the tips are focused on your exact model.
- With Omora Plus you can also get reminders for these maintenance tasks with a next-due date and a tap to mark them done.
Always follow the manufacturer's manual first. Omora's tips are helpful reminders — not repair instructions.

Good to know
Warranties and consumer rights, answered.
Straight answers to the questions people ask when a receipt goes missing or a product breaks — and where Omora fits in.
What is the difference between a guarantee and my statutory consumer rights?
Your statutory rights — "Gewährleistung" in Germany, "reklamationsret" in Denmark — are set by law: the retailer who sold the item is liable for defects for at least two years. A guarantee is a voluntary extra, usually from the manufacturer, that adds to those rights but never replaces them. Omora tracks both separately for every product, so you always know which one to use.
What is an extended retailer warranty, and is it worth it?
An extended warranty — sometimes called a service or protection plan — is an optional paid contract, usually sold by the retailer, that adds cover once the manufacturer's guarantee and your statutory rights run out. Depending on the plan it can include repairs, wear and tear, or accidental damage. Because your statutory rights already cover you for at least two years, it is worth checking exactly what the plan adds on top before paying for it. Omora records the plan's end date next to the product, so you know when each layer of cover stops.
What is product insurance, and does it cover a broken appliance?
Cover for your belongings usually comes through home-contents insurance, which can pay to repair or replace things damaged by fire, water, theft or an accident — unlike a warranty, which only covers manufacturing faults. Some retailers and banks also sell standalone product or gadget insurance for a single item. Cover, excess and limits vary by policy, so check what yours includes. With Omora Plus, you can note an insurance layer on each product, so you remember it exists when something goes wrong.
What is credit-card purchase protection?
Many credit cards, and some premium debit cards, include purchase protection that can refund or repair an item that is damaged or stolen within a set window after you buy it — often 90 to 365 days. Some cards also extend the manufacturer's warranty by up to a year. It is set by your card's terms, not the retailer, and usually needs the receipt and a card statement as proof. Omora keeps the receipt and purchase details on file, ready to pair with the statement you pull from your bank when you file.
Warranty, insurance or card protection — which should I use when something breaks?
Start with the cause. If the product is genuinely faulty — a manufacturing defect — use your statutory rights against the retailer first, then any manufacturer or extended warranty; these are normally free. If it was dropped, spilled on or stolen — accidental damage rather than a fault — that is where home-contents insurance or your card's purchase protection comes in. The layers can overlap, so it is worth checking each before you pay for a repair yourself. Omora shows every layer you hold against a product in one place — statutory rights and warranties for everyone, insurance and card protection with Plus — so you can pick the right one quickly.
How long am I covered if something I bought turns out to be faulty?
Across the EU, including Germany and Denmark, you get at least two years of statutory cover from the retailer for a fault that was present at delivery. In Germany the first 12 months are presumed to be the retailer's responsibility (§477 BGB); Denmark applies the same 12-month presumption. Omora saves the purchase date and counts these deadlines down for you.
How long do my consumer rights last in Austria?
In Austria your statutory defect rights come from the Verbrauchergewährleistungsgesetz (VGG, BGBl. I Nr. 175/2021), which applies to consumer goods bought from a business on or after 1 January 2022. The seller is liable for defects that existed at handover and appear within two years (§ 10 VGG), and if the defect shows up in the first year it is presumed to have been there at handover, so the business carries the burden of proof (§ 11 VGG). You are entitled to repair or replacement first; only if that is impossible, disproportionate or not done in time can you ask for a price reduction or to cancel the contract (§ 12 with §§ 14–15 VGG). The claim itself lapses three months after the two-year period ends (§ 28 VGG). Omora saves the purchase date and counts these deadlines down for you.
How long do my consumer rights last in Ireland?
In Ireland your statutory consumer rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (No. 37 of 2022), in force since 29 November 2022: goods must conform to the contract, and it is the retailer who sold them — not the manufacturer — who must put things right when they do not. If a fault appears within the first 12 months it is presumed to have been there at delivery unless the seller shows otherwise, and in the first 30 days you can usually return faulty goods for a full refund. After that you can normally ask for a repair or replacement first, then a price reduction or to end the contract if that is not resolved. There is no two-year cut-off: a claim can be brought for up to six years from delivery (Statute of Limitations 1957, s. 11(1)(a)). Purchases made before 29 November 2022 fall under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 instead, with the same six-year window. Omora saves the purchase date and counts these deadlines down for you.
My appliance broke just after two years — is there anything I can do?
Possibly. Statutory cover runs at least two years, but a manufacturer guarantee, an extended retailer warranty, home-contents insurance, or credit-card purchase protection can reach further — and people often forget they have them. Omora keeps every layer of cover visible per product and, with Plus, gathers the receipt, warranty status and photos into a ready-to-send claim pack.
How can I prove when I bought something if I have lost the receipt?
A bank or card statement, an order-confirmation email, or the retailer's order history can all establish the purchase date. The reliable fix is to save the proof the day you buy — Omora captures the receipt from a scan, photo or forwarded email, so the date, price and retailer are stored before the paper fades or the email is buried.
How long should I keep receipts for warranties and consumer rights?
Keep a receipt at least as long as your cover lasts — two years for statutory rights, longer if the product has an extended guarantee or you have insured it. Thermal receipts often fade within months, so a digital copy is safer; Omora stores a clear copy with each product for as long as you own it.
Can I transfer a warranty when I sell or give away a product?
Statutory rights stay with the original purchase, but many manufacturer guarantees and other cover can pass to a new owner when you hand over the proof — receipt, serial number and warranty documents. Omora lets you transfer a product's receipt, warranty dates and documents to a new owner in one link, so they have the proof a claim would need.
What is the best app to keep track of receipts and warranties?
Omora is built for exactly this: scan a receipt, photograph it, or forward the confirmation email, and it reads the retailer, price, purchase date and warranty automatically — then keeps the receipt, warranty end date, statutory rights, serial number and photos together per product. It is free for up to 10 products, stored on your device from the start.
Can my family share one Omora Plus subscription?
Yes. One Omora Plus subscription covers a household of up to five people, including you — there are no extra seats to buy. You invite each member with a link from Settings → Household, and everyone gets the same Plus features and the same shared vault: the products, receipts, warranties, documents and photos any of you add are there for all of you. Personal things stay personal — each member keeps their own account and their own receipt-forwarding inbox, and that address and what arrives in it stay visible only to them. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is shared and what is not.
Is my purchase data private, and does Omora need a cloud account?
Your products are stored locally on your device for the free 10-product tier, and Omora uses no ad tracking. Getting started needs a quick account sign-in, but never a paid subscription — receipt scans combine on-device text recognition with a secure cloud call to read the details accurately. Cloud backup is free and automatic; syncing across the family's devices is part of Omora Plus. You can delete your account at any time, and export your backed-up data whenever you like.
